PRP Therapy

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is considered a more effective and safe procedure to overcome the signs of aging.

As we age, the skin loses its ability to produce collagen and maintain hydration.

Platelets are the blood cells that cause blood clots and other necessary growth factors. Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood composed of water and proteins, which provides a medium for RBC, WBC, and platelets to circulate through the body.

PRP therapy, uses injections of a concentration of patients’ platelets to promote healing.

PRP Hair Regrowth Procedure

A minimal amount of blood is withdrawn from the patient’s veins and then placed in a centrifuge machine for further processing and separation of plasma. Around 15 to 20 ML of blood is drawn under sterile conditions. The blood tube is placed in a centrifuge and spun to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the rest of the blood. The PRP is separated and transferred into a syringe, and then the plasma is transferred to the required area which effectively promotes hair growth and scalp rejuvenation.

Mechanism of Action

PRP contains numerous growth factors that act directly and indirectly to regenerate the tissue. Fibroblasts and mesenchymal stem cells are attracted by PRP, which in turn secretes pro-collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Growth factors present in PRP activate cells in the body to regenerate collagen in the skin, thereby promoting tissue regeneration. PRP therapy stimulates hair follicles, improves scalp health, and enhances natural hair growth.
